Music at Beck Row

Music is very important to us at Beck Row and it is woven throughout our topic based curriculum.

This means that all pupils in the school are able to perform, listen to and appraise music across a range of historical periods, genre and styles and have the opportunity to create and compose music as part of their topics, using a variety of instruments and their voices.

In Year 4, every pupil learns the clarinet as part of the West Suffolk County Music Service Whole Class Ensemble Teaching programme. At the end of the year their work is celebrated in a concert with lots of other local schools.

In Year 5 and 6, some pupils continue to learn the clarinet in small group lessons.
